Welcome to WASUSU
We are a small fashion brand with one Malawian designer, one Norwegian designer and a small staff of Malawian tailors, administrators and assistents.
Rosha and Sunniva the designers, are both musicians and also married to each other. They started WASUSU and have run the brand from Norway and Malawi for several years. They have, since they started this, been designers, accountants, promoters, salespersons, photographers, modells and drivers. In 2019 they finally got it: They needed to extend the staff, and in 2020 they finished a building containing both space for the tailor workshop and for the administration. They also bought a house in Skaun, Norway, and moved to Norway.
They left the responsibility for the administration in Malawi to Mugabe (a considerably kinder and more creative guy than his presidential name-brother in Zimbabwe :-), which has turned out pretty well! Joanna is making sure the workshop and location is always in order, that the fabrics are neatly organised and she takes care of both customers, visitors and the employees.
Felix, the tailor being with us from the beginning, is concerned with precision and hand craft. He has been there from the beginning, and is just called «Gulu Wa Fifa», the Keeper of Rules. He never says no to a new challenge, and he loves to create new solutions on upcominge problems.
The standards Sunniva and Felix has developed together is the core of WASUSU, and crucial to the quality of our products.
When we need it, we hire more tailors, which normally have their own business. Katsa Bola is one of them, and central in the production of some prototypes for the dress-collections comming in 2020. Marketin is a company we started to cooperate with in 2020, and they are in charge of the web-based PR, websites and the establishment of the webshop.
